Incoming Trump administration Immigration is looking to arrest illegal immigrants across the country as soon as Day One, with top officials saying they are ready to “take the handcuffs off” from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The Wall Street Journal It was reported that the administration is planning a large-scale raid in Chicago on Tuesday, targeting those with criminal backgrounds in particular.

Fox News' Jesse Watters asked incoming border czar Tom Homan about media reports of a “major raid” on Tuesday in Chicago, but Homan said ICE will be working across the country.

“There's going to be a big raid across the country. Chicago is just one of many places. We have 24 field offices across the country. On Tuesday, ICE will finally come out and do its job. We're going to go take the handcuffs off ICE and allow “For them to arrest criminal foreigners, this is what will happen.”

“What we're telling ICE is you're going to enforce immigration law without apology. You're going to focus on the worst first, public safety threats first, but no one is off the table. If they're on the list and he said 'they entered the country illegally,' they've got a problem,” he said.

The administration promised to conduct mass deportations, as well as beef up border security. Officials said they intended to target people with criminal histories and convictions, but also stressed they would likely arrest anyone in the United States illegally. “The administration has been clear that we will start arresting people from day one, and Chicago probably won't be the only place where arrests will be made,” a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.

It is expected that the administration will witness a significant decline on its part “Sanctuary” cities. which refuses to allow state and local law enforcement to honor ICE detainees – requires ICE to be notified when detained illegal immigrants are released.

Some Democratic officials in Chicago, as well as Massachusetts and Arizona, have said they will not cooperate with the administration.

But New York City Mayor Eric Adams met with Homan about how they can work together to keep out illegal immigrants who have been convicted of violent crimes.

DHS nominee Kristi Noem She testified before Congress on Friday, expressing her support for mass deportations and strengthening border security. She also said the administration would immediately end the use of the CBP One app, which currently allows for the parole of immigrants into the United States.
