The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddy Mellencamp She was not always firm in her decision to divorce Edwin Arroyave.
“We went to this couple's therapy and he came out as an introvert, which was shocking information to everyone, even though I've been saying this my whole life,” Mellencamp, 43, said during his Thursday, January 16, retreat. An episode of her show “Rough Diamonds” Podcast. “I'm an introvert by nature, so I enjoy time alone (and) I need to recharge my batteries.”
Although she found solace in quiet moments, she was not prepared for the extreme isolation of divorce. (Mellencamp separated from Arroyave, 47, in the fall of 2024 and I filed for divorce November of that year.)
“There are moments that I feel right now, where I feel really lonely and I don't know if these feelings of loneliness mean that I made a mistake or if this is just… Something I have to get used to “This is a new change in my life,” Mellencamp said, trying to hold back tears. “Gosh, I'm so embarrassed that I'm getting emotional, but this is a confusing part of it all.”
She continued: “Are you supposed to continue in power or are you supposed to give it (time)?”
Mellencamp podcast host, Erika Jayne – whose personal life made headlines in 2020 after her split from the now-fired lawyer Thomas Girardi – chimed in to share her support.
“She's in the middle of it now, and it's very new and difficult,” Jane, 53, said on Thursday's episode. “I feel for her because none of this is easy, and you should pick yourself up and even get on the podcast today and talk about it. You know, Teddy, you need to take a break for yourself. If you don't say you're feeling lonely, I'd be worried that you're feeling lonely.” With that.
For Mellencamp, it's as if she's in “constant pain” that she tries to “fake” every day.
“I've talked about this in therapy, but it's like I'm being drawn into another chaotic situation,” Mellencamp explained. “I don't want to reveal too much about my father or anything like that, but obviously my father (John Mellencamp) He was a rock star. He met a girl in the Rainbow Room who was my mom and they had kids (while) he was already married. Like, everything was as it was – show.
Teddy continued, “There's been a lot of ups and downs in my life, and my only goal was… to give my kids stability. I don't know if it's loneliness or I'm feeling afraid, (but) I also don't feel like I'm done with everything.” These things.
