Erling Haaland has signed a new nine-and-a-half-year contract, keeping him at Manchester City until the summer of 2034.
Haaland's previous contract was due to expire in the summer of 2027, but he has now signed one of football's longest ever deals which will see him turn 34 by the time his contract expires.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid after scoring 111 goals in 126 matches since joining City in June 2022 from Borussia Dortmund.
City, sixth in the English Premier League, is rebuilding this month with defenders Abdelkader Khosanov and Victor Reese from lens and Palm trees Respectively close to the signature while a The deal was agreed upon Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush.
“I am in debt no matter what.”
Commenting on his new contract, Haaland said: “I'm really happy to sign my new contract and be able to look forward to spending more time at this great club.”
He added: “Manchester City is a special club, full of great people and great fans, and it is this kind of environment that helps bring out the best in everyone.
“I also want to thank Pep (Guardiola), his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the club because they have helped me so much in the last two years. They have made this a special place and now I am in debt no matter what.
“I want to continue to improve and keep working to get better and I look forward to doing my best to try and help us achieve more success in the future.”
Haaland scored 10 goals in his first five Premier League games this season, including successive hat-tricks, but has scored just six goals in 16 league games since. He ranks second in the scorers' standings behind Mohamed Salah, with 18 goals.
Haaland lifted two titles in the English Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the Super Cup in two and a half seasons with City.
Manchester City signed Haaland to a five-year contract for £51m by paying his release clause in a deal that was expected to rise to £85.5m in total when the agent fee, signing bonus and other costs are taken into account.
Haaland scored 86 goals in 89 matches with Dortmund after joining from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
Analysis: Haaland is capable of breaking records
Sky Sports Nick Wright:
Erling Haaland's new contract is bad news for Manchester City's Premier League rivals. With 79 goals in 87 appearances since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, plus a further 32 goals in 39 appearances in other competitions, his goalscoring feats have been extraordinary.
His Premier League goal total is 24 higher than anyone else in the same time period, with Mohamed Salah, who has scored 55 goals, the only other player to even reach the half-century. Haaland is in a league of his own when it comes to the art of putting the ball in the net.
After just two and a half seasons, he is on the cusp of entering the top 50 goalscorers in the Premier League. He continues his current form and will equal Fernando Torres' level (85) before the end of next month. Ruud van Nistelrooy's total (95) will be matched by May.
The difference, of course, is that these two players, and indeed everyone above him, needed much longer to reach these numbers. Haaland has set new standards in the competition, averaging an unprecedented 0.99 goals per 90 minutes since his debut.
With nine and a half years left on his new contract, and still about to enter the prime of his career at the age of 24, he should have enough time when it comes to reeling a name to the top of the list. Alan Shearer's total of 260 goals came in 441 matches. It is unlikely that Haaland will need this many.
