The recent failure of the Indian cricket team has forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to tighten restrictions on players.

The BCCI document states: “All players are expected to strictly adhere to the above guidelines. Any exceptions or deviations must be approved in advance by the Chairman of the Selection Committee and the Head Coach. The latest BCCI policy also mandates the participation of all players in domestic cricket to ensure that players remain connected to the domestic cricket ecosystem, promote talent development, maintain match fitness and strengthen the overall domestic structure.

Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board has also taken some stringent measures to enhance discipline and team unity among players during matches and training sessions. According to the new policy, all players must travel with the team, which discourages separate travel arrangements with families to maintain “discipline” and “team cohesion.”
However, if someone wants to relax this rule, they must obtain prior approval from the head coach and the chair of the selection committee. Now, Indian players will not be allowed to have personal staff, such as managers, cooks, assistants and security personnel, during tours or series unless specifically approved by the board.

The Board of Directors took this step to streamline operations and reduce logistical complexities. Now, the players will have to be with the Indian cricket team until the official conclusion of the series or tour, even if the matches end earlier than the scheduled time, in order to enhance team bonding and avoid disruptions in the overall team dynamics.
