Riviera Country Club, where the tournament is being held, was part of the evacuation zone. The course is located in the Pacific Palisades area, which was one of the parts of Los Angeles devastated by the war. Deadly forest fires.

It's unclear where the $20 million signature event will be played. But the PGA Tour said events will begin on February 10, with the tournament itself beginning on February 13.

The stadium was not damaged in the forest fires that left more than twenty people dead and burned more than 12,000 buildings.

“The PGA TOUR remains focused on the safety and well-being of those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster in greater Los Angeles,” the organization said in a statement. “We are grateful for the life-saving efforts of our first responders and the tireless work being done to put an end to these tragic wildfires.

“In collaboration with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, and out of respect for the status quo, we have decided that the 2025 Genesis Invitational will be played at an alternate venue the week of February 10-16. An update to the venue and additional tournament information will be provided in the coming days.”

Tiger Woods, the tournament host, said this week that he was not focused on the event.

“We're just trying to figure everything out and make sure everyone is safe, and we have meetings scheduled moving forward,” he said. Los Angeles Times.
