(Reuters) – An informed source said that two Americans detained in the Gaza Strip are on the list of hostages who will be released during the first phase of the six-week ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which was announced on Wednesday.
The source, who requested to remain anonymous, said that the two are Keith Siegel and Sagi Dekel Chen.
Their inclusion on the list was first reported by CNN.
They were among more than 250 hostages taken by Hamas activists to Gaza, according to Israeli statistics, in the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel that led to its assault on the Strip.
Siegel was kidnapped along with his wife, Adrienne. She was among a group of hostages who were released under the ceasefire agreement concluded in November 2023.
