Terence Crawford posted a photo on X of himself with Turki Al Sheikh, confirming that he is making a deal for his mega fight against Canelo Alvarez in September.

Crawford used A King crown emoji With his image as if he saw him as a king of some kind after getting the fight he was begging for. This fight is Crawford's golden retirement day by parachute. Think of it as Canelo vs. Jermell Charlo 2.0.

Is it too much to ask for Crawford to test himself against at least one killer at 168 first? Turk should hold Crawford's feet to the fire, telling him that he must first beat David Benavidez to get a payday against Canelo. Just let Terence fight Benavidez and let him prove he's worthy of meeting King Canelo.

Mayweather 2.0 chart

It's that kind of mismatch. I just hope Turk sells it cheap on PPV because it will be a mismatch and likely boring if he follows Crawford Mayweather chart How Alvarez fought in 2013. Crawford's trainer, Brian “Bomak” McIntyre, has already said they will follow Mayweather's plan by “boxing, moving and pinning” Canelo throughout the night. It would be very boring to watch. He said Crawford would follow him to a T, which would be pure poison to the eyes.

I wouldn't hate to see Canelo vs. Crawford if it's free as part of a regular subscription with DAZN because it's a circus-level fight. Crawford just moved up to 154 and looked bad, and now he's going to move up two more divisions with no experience, no testing, no title shot, and fight Canelo. It's a joke.

Turk needs to nicely tell Crawford if he wants the money to fight Canelo, he'll show some smarts by fighting Morel or Benavidez to show he deserves to be in the king's presence. Let me be the one to tell Crawford. I'll break it to him.

Former four-division world champion Crawford looked like an average fighter last August, rising from 147th to 154th to challenge WBA champion Israel Madrimov for his title.

Two sections too far

Crawford was less than impressive, needing to rally late to win a 12-round unanimous decision against Madrimov. He could have easily lost that fight if Madrimov had known that he needed to keep attacking instead of continuing to fire. The performance by the 40-looking Crawford showed that he has reached the limit of what he can do.

If he moves to 160 to face hitman Janbek Alimkhanuli or 168 to face Benavidez, the jig will be up. Crawford will be slaughtered for the size, youth and talent of these fighters.

Fans are divided on whether 37-year-old Crawford taking this fight against Canelo is good for the sport, as it further degrades boxing into a non-sport. Obviously, in real sports, Crawford would have to leapfrog other teams to reach the top level.

There will be a season, playoffs, and then finals. We see Crawford taking all those jumps on fighters who could potentially beat him, like David Benavidez, David Murrell, Diego Pacheco, Christian Mbele, and Oslis Iglesias. If this were an exhibition fight, that would make sense, but it doesn't.

Crawford moves up two weight classes for an undeserved world title shot against WBA, WBC and WBO middleweight champion Canelo in September. How is this allowed to happen?
