After years of mismatches, evasion, and Twitter callouts, we finally have it TRUE Super fight. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is scheduled to face Terrence “Bud” Crawford on September 13 in Las Vegas. And yes, pigs might actually fly because this fight is so improbable.

Crawford's uphill battle (literally)

Let's get one thing straight: Terrence Crawford, a natural 147-pound welterweight, is jumping three weight classes to fight Canelo. three. This guy didn't exactly look like a knockout artist at 154 pounds in his only fight there, but sure, why not test your limits against a guy who was crushing people at 168 pounds and even held his limits at 175 pounds? It seems reasonable.

By the way, Bud is 38 years old. Most fighters at this age are thinking about retirement, not booking fights against one of the most dangerous men in the sport. But hey, there's probably a Brinks truck parked in Crawford's driveway as we speak, so who are we to judge?

Vegas knows what's up

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag don't buy into the underdog fairy tale. They opened with Canelo as the -150 favorite and Crawford at +120. This has already turned into:

  • Canelo: -185
  • Crawford: +155

Translation: The size difference isn't just real, it's real silly. And bettors are flocking to Canelo as if it were Black Friday at Walmart.

Can Bud shock the world?

Crawford is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters, without a doubt. But this is less “pound for pound” and more “pound for pound”. Plus fiftyIf he somehow beats Canelo, they will need to rewrite the history books, build a statue to him, and crown him king of all combat sports.

But let's be realistic. Canelo has spent years turning natural super middleweights into punching bags. And now the welterweight champion, as brilliant as he may be, is supposed to survive this? Good luck, Bud. You will need it.
