Gervonta Davis took to social media to complain that she was not invited by Turki Al Sheikh to attend the Ring Awards last Saturday in London. Davis seemed bitter because he was not one of the fighters invited by Turki.

Turkish choices

WBA lightweight champion Tank Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) said Al-Sheikh only invited people he “deals with.” What really bothered him was seeing it Shakur Stevenson Among the fighters who took the photo with a Turk.

Shakur was placed in a prominent place in the photo, indicating his high status as a fighter among the group. Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia were also invited.

This must have boiled Tank's kettle because he doesn't rate Shakur, who tends to boo when he fights. He's not in the same league as Gervonta in terms of entertainment, ticket sales and PPV attraction. Shakur is an old type of early 2000s Mayweather who seems out of place in this era where fighters must entertain or else.

However, Shakur's signing with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom means he will be invited to Turkish events and will fight on his Riyadh season card next month, on February 22. If Tank Davis had been with Hearn, he would certainly have been invited. Shakur said in an interview last Saturday that Turki will hold a fight between him and Tank Davis soon.

“Why didn't they invite everyone but invite the people they deal with. 'Fuck, get out of here… Look at the little mouse who thinks he's come up with something (Eddie Hearn) now tell them they're all fighting each other because they've got a heavy roster,'” he said. Tank Davis is on the show. X.

Who comes in and who goes out

Fans who view this negatively may argue that Turki has created a small club or clique of fighters that he selects and pays well for his massive hand.

Fighters who are not invited are left behind and do not get the same spotlight to grow their careers. They are left on the sidelines and not making much money because they are not at the club.

In sociology it is “in group” and “Out of group.” Groups within the group form cliques, are invited to parties, and generally get the best of everything.

The “out-group” is only allowed to join the in-group if it does something that sets it apart, such as succeeding at something. They are treated like Outcasts or Leprosy The group avoided it. Tank Davis seems upset about not being part of the group.

In the past, Tank Davis said that Turki Al-Sheikh would need to have “two Ferraris” sent to his door as a starting point to begin negotiations to fight over one of his cards. This did not happen.

“If they wanted me, they had to send me something to my door… like my Ferrari or something,” Tank Davis said in an interview.
