MANILA (Reuters) – The Philippines, the United States and Japan have pledged to strengthen and deepen trilateral relations between their countries, Manila said on Monday after a meeting between its leaders.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met virtually with US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on Monday morning from Manila.

“I am confident that our three countries will continue to work closely together to maintain the gains we have achieved in strengthening and deepening our relations,” Marcos said during the meeting.
