14-year-old Ira Jadhav has entered her name into the record books after her impressive effort with the bat in the Under-19 Women's One Day Cup on Sunday (January 12). She became the first Indian woman cricketer to score a triple century in a limited-overs match.
Ira Jadhav achieved the feat while playing for Mumbai in the U-19 Women's One Day Cup match played against Meghalaya. The match between the two teams was held at the Alor Cricket Stadium and witnessed history being written by the young player.

Ira Jadhav was at her aggressive best as she hit 42 fours and 16 sixes in her innings. The 14-year-old made no mistake in her innings as she added 274 runs for the second wicket with captain Hurley Gala (116) and later, stitched 186 runs for the third wicket with Deeksha Pawar (39). .
Thanks to their impressive effort with the bat, Mumbai posted a total of 563 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets in 50 overs. Her innings would certainly have sent a strong message to the selectors and perhaps forced them to add the mix to the main squad for the upcoming U-19 Women's World Cup.

Ira Jadhav also became the first ever Indian cricketer to reach a triple century in 50-over cricket. If she had been given the opportunity to be in the starting lineup for the World Cup, she would have been keen to perform well in the tournament and help the team win the tournament.
Her amazing efforts with the bat saw former Indian women's national cricket team captain Diana Edulji hailing her for the effort. “Hats off to Ira, she is an Under-15 player and plays at all age groups. I hope to see her in Indian colours,” she told the Times of India.
