James Woods He was among the celebrities whose homes survived the devastation caused by the California wildfires.

Although the actor initially feared his home was lost to the fire that swept through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Woods shared a positive update when he returned to the property after evacuating.

“A miracle has happened,” Woods wrote on X, previously Twitter, alongside a video of the view from the deck.

“We were able to access our belongings and our house, which we were told was gone forever, is still standing. In this hellish landscape, ‘standing’ is relative, but the smoke and other damage is not the same as the absolute devastation around us.”

In the clip shared by Woods, he panned the camera over “everything below us,” to show scorched earth and buildings reduced to rubble as plumes of smoke continued to rise in the distance.

“This is Paley High School,” he said while photographing the wreckage on the charter school campus.

“This is our neighbor’s house,” Woods said, focusing on a badly damaged house.

The video continued as Woods filmed a young man pouring water on the bushes and wooden siding.

“Francis, whose father saved us, is now putting out fires on our hills,” he said. In a previous X post, Woods described how he helped organize the evacuation of an elderly neighbor.

Woods gave his viewers a 360-degree view of the devastation before zooming in on his neighbor's house again.

“Oh my God, look at this,” Woods said. “Oh, my God.”

In a later post, Woods thanked his fans for their support.

“There are so many lovely messages from all of you,” he said. “I'm very happy and grateful, but honestly, the whole area looks like the dark side of the moon.

“It's very worrying and upsetting, and it's almost hard to celebrate the good news that our house has survived.”

In addition to Woods, a number of other stars revealed that their homes survived the devastating wildfires.

“My heart bleeds for my friends,” Garner said. “I mean I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes missing. I can – without even (thinking) – write a list of 100 friends who lost their homes.

“I almost feel guilty walking around my house,” she added. “You know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What can I offer with these hands and these walls and the security that I have?”

The “Alias” alum cried when she revealed that one of her friends died in the wildfires.

“I lost a friend, and for our church, it was really painful. So, I don't feel like we should talk about it yet,” Garner said. “I lost a friend. She didn't get out in time.”

“Our first responders and firefighters, who work tirelessly around the clock, even when overwhelmed, are nothing short of heroes. Their dedication saves lives, and their courage is beyond measure. Please know they did everything they could. We're out of water.”

“I have been sharing resources on my page and will continue to do so as we all navigate through this. @ysebeauty is moving very quickly to find meaningful ways to support the community. During an interview with Associated Pressthe actor said he has mixed feelings about how his home survived while the properties of so many others were destroyed.

“Just this morning, I woke up, and I was really conscious of my state of mind and my mental health, because I've witnessed so much tragedy in the last three days,” Guttenberg said. He told the outlet that his home has electricity but no running water.

Guttenberg thanked God that his building was safe, but said about 20 homes burned “very badly” in his community of 80 homes after wind-whipped fires swept through Los Angeles, destroying homes and blocking roads as tens of thousands fled.

He told the Associated Press that the fire was the worst he had ever seen. Gutenberg returned to his neighborhood to help others who remained in the relief effort. The “Police Academy” star helped move cars to clear the street, distribute food, and help neighbors from their homes.

“I've seen scared people, people in wheelchairs, moms and dads trying to find their kids, people having anxiety and panic attacks,” Guttenberg said.

He added: “All these houses behind me were burned to the ground, where their families enjoyed wonderful times with their friends and families.” “There's already a lot of pain going on right now. I'm doing everything I can to help ease it.”

Guttenberg said he's not sure how much the film and TV industry will be able to help during the start of awards season.

“Everyone will do what normal people do: help each other, give each other food and water, help each other in their backyards and in their front yards,” he said. “Even though someone is an actor, or a producer, or a writer, or a director, we're all just people. … Maybe people can donate at some point to some type of fund. But I think just be good neighbors right now.”
