“Wheel of Fortune” hosts. Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White Help make a contestant's night a little special.
On Thursday night, during the game show's 50th anniversary celebration, Seacrest announced that they had helped Robin propose to former “Wheel of Fortune” contestant Rhea Matthew in October 2023.
“We're celebrating milestones in honor of our 50th anniversary, and one already happened earlier in the week here on set,” Seacrest announced in a clip uploaded to YouTube.
“Former contestant Rhea's boyfriend, Robin, reached out to help us ask her a big question,” Vanna added.

She explained that with the help of announcer Jim Thornton, they were able to create “a little ruse, which made Rhea think she was back to celebrate the Wheel's 50th anniversary.”

“But take a look and see what happened,” Wyatt added, before moving on to Robin and Rhea's suggestion.
In the clip, Raya solved the question, “Will you marry me?” puzzle.
“Well done,” Thornton said to Rhea.
Robin walked on stage, got down on one knee and asked: “Rhea Susan Mathew, will you marry me?” The former contestant looked shocked and nodded in agreement.
“Rhea Susan Mathew, will you marry me?”
The video then cuts to White and Seacrest.
“I think she was really surprised,” Ryan said.

“Yes, that was very gratifying,” White said.
“Very nice. I love that we can do that on this show,” Seacrest added.
“You never know what's going to happen here,” White joked.
