With all of his many accomplishments and records in the NFL, Tom Brady is arguably the best player in the league. He is considered one of the greatest athletes around the world, often alongside legends like Roger Federer, Sachin Tendulkar, and Michael Jordan. However, despite his various accomplishments and accolades, Brady is reluctant to acknowledge the title.

After their 13-3 Super Bowl LIII win over the LA Rams in February 2019, Brady revealed that he doesn't like being labeled a title player. He said in an exclusive interview with Good Morning America:

“I don't even like it. It makes me feel embarrassed.”

Brady believes the title may negatively impact his performance because he is driven more by criticism than accolades.

“I hope you say, 'You're trash, you're too old, you're too slow, you can't get it done anymore,'” Brady said. “And I'll say, 'Thank you.'” a lot; “I will prove you wrong.”

Brady believes he is his own biggest critic, and that motivates him to bring out the best in him.

Careful observation of Tom Brady's career trajectory shows that he rose through the ranks the more he was under suspicion. After being drafted 199th in the 2000 draft, Brady was benched until an injury to Drew Bledsoe in the 2001-02 season gave him a chance.
