Eddie Hearn says George Kambosos Jr will headline a show in Australia in March. He didn't say who the former unified lightweight champion would fight, but he did mention that he would be a top 15 contender in his debut at 140 years old.

“The Emperor” Kambosos is going through a rough patch in his career at the moment, having lost three of his last four fights, and is viewed as a textbook example of a one-punch wonder.

George pulled off a miracle surprise for Teofimo Lopez in 2021 and made millions from this short success. However, things have gone downhill for Kambosos since then, as he has lost twice to Devin Haney and been knocked out by Vasiliy Lomachenko. He is a flash in the pan.

“Boom” Hitchens in Kamposos Landmarks

Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) says he will challenge Richardson Hitchins for the IBF light welterweight title in the summer. Referring to the undefeated New Yorker as A “Boom,“Kambosos is confident that he will beat him to become two-division world champion.

Hitchens spoiled Hearn's plans for a big Australian bout by defeating IBF 140lb champion Liam Barrow by a 12-round unanimous decision last month on 7 December. Hearn was hoping to match Kambosos and Barrow in a major Australian draw in 2025, as the fight could have been a big seller in the Australian market.
