Fox News host Jesse Watters He criticized California's leadership during Thursday's opening monologue, asking “who's in charge” in response to the Los Angeles fires.

Jesse Watters: Newsom reduced the budget for water projects. He blocked a move to bring water to Southern California and began tearing down dams. He did not build a single tank. The last time California built a reservoir was nearly 50 years ago. Instead, they allowed billions of gallons of storm water to flow into the sea. Taps will not dry out if they store rainwater. Los Angeles ranks last in the West for rainwater availability. This entire episode symbolizes liberalism. It doesn't build anything. It just destroys.

Gavin has to say the responsibility will fall on me. I am the ruler. I'm on it. Instead, he accepts no blame… So who was responsible during the first hours of the worst fire in Los Angeles history? It's like the White House. No one knows who is in charge there either. This is very embarrassing. It's aggravating. This country has reached rock bottom. These are the leaders we voted for. It can't get any worse than this. The mayor cannot communicate and the governor cannot bring water to the fire. This is California policy.

People and businesses have been fleeing California for years. Now you understand why they have a drug, crime and homelessness problem. But if you're a rich liberal from California, this won't affect you. Inflation doesn't bite. Migrants keep your lawns beautiful. Crime doesn't happen through your gates. You're driving right past homeless people. Your money makes you immune to liberal rule. yet. America is reaching a turning point. We don't have to live like this. We deserve better.
