Now that it's newer Battlestar Galactica The reboot has been taken out of the Hollywood airlock, and fans have argued heatedly about how to bring back the franchise. However, as the reboot likes to remind us, everything that happened before is destined to happen again. With that in mind, I have a simple suggestion: We need to Battlestar Galactica A spin-off showing what was happening aboard the various Colony ships during the 2003 reboot, an idea reminiscent of that show's first season.

The original Battlestar Galactica idea

Throughout the reboot, we haven't gotten too many episodes featuring civilian ships, and most of the best ones were in the first season of the show. The reason for this is that Ronald D. Moore originally wanted the show to repeatedly explore what was happening in the fleet, but SyFy was concerned about the cost of doing so. After the cost of producing “Bastille Day” (an episode set mostly on a prison ship) was largely completed, the network and Moore agreed to focus the action mostly aboard the Galactica for future episodes.

In short, this idea would make perfect Battlestar Galactica Subview. It could serve as a true anthology, with each episode focusing on different ships and crews during different phases of the original show's run. Creatively, this would be a real win because audiences will always have new characters to fall in love with and the network will likely hire some big names for one-off appearances, which is much easier than locking someone in for multiple seasons. a contract.

Setup A Battlestar Galactica A spin-off set during the original show's time period will give fans more adventures set during the franchise's most exciting time period… namely after the Cylons attack the colonies. While I thought fancy was good, this show's low ratings and subsequent cancellation are proof that fans don't necessarily want prequels or other types of spin-offs that veer too far from what they know and love. With this anthology-style spinoff, it could have a familiar setting (colony ships) and premise (humanity trying to survive a Cylon-induced apocalypse) along with compelling new characters.

In addition to this Battlestar Galactica Spinoff, there will be scope for replaying the replay through multiple methods, including simply bringing in the original audio to serve as transmissions received by the colony ships. Alternatively, the new spinoff may be able to enlist the reboot crew to provide new voice work. Keeping their voices limited to podcasts means that producers don't have to worry about making actors sound younger, and actors are more likely to come back if they simply have to record a few lines and take a small paycheck.

PSG Gaius Baltar

At the risk of sounding as arrogant as Gaius Baltar, that is Battlestar Galactica The spinoff has a little something for everyone: new stories, familiar ships, and endless narrative possibilities. It could work as a TV show or even a series of films intended for streaming, and would be relatively cheap to produce (especially since there's no real need for space battles or other action-packed scenes). However, at this very moment, some overpaid executives are working on a reboot Galactica From scratch, unless the producers adopted an idea that had been around ever since Contractsthis franchise will never restore itself in a new body.
