After its shares rose significantly thanks to a season that only happens once in a generation, Ashton Ginty He is going pro.

“The opportunity to play in the NFL is a dream of mine, and I am proud to represent Boise State and all those who have helped me along the way at the next level,” Jeanty wrote in a social media post.

As a sophomore in 2023, Genty ran for 1,347 yards — and last season, he nearly doubled that.
Genty ran for 2,601 yards, 28 yards shy of passing Barry Sanders for the most in a college season. However, his epic campaign placed him second on the all-time list, besting both Melvin Gordon and Kevin Smith during his only College Football Playoff game against a stout Penn State defense.

Genty's performance propelled the Broncos to victory in the Mountain West and earn a bye into the CFP quarterfinals. However, Genty ran for just 104 yards, his lowest of the season, as the Nittany Lions advanced to the semifinals. Entering the Fiesta Bowl, Jeanty had rushed for over 125 yards in each of his previous 13 games this season.
The running back is projected to be a first-round pick this season, and it's hard to see why he wouldn't be selected. The 2024 season has seen a revitalization of the running back position, and Ginty is undoubtedly the best of the best this year.
It's very rare to see a drop in the first round, though there have been a couple of such instances in 2023 — but again, thanks to his skill set and how the position has regained its value this year, some mock draft picks have picked up Gainey in the teens.
