the Marry me The star shared details of their wedding festivities in Georgia in the September issue of her “On the J.Lo” newsletter.
“It rained at sunset every day that week. Everyone was worried about the heat, the aptly named 'love bugs', the details, whether all the guests would arrive on time, etc. – not to mention the thunder and lightning that arrived almost every “Oh, we all had a stomach bug and were recovering until late in the week, and that, plus some other unexpected setbacks, had it all,” Lopez wrote. Makes us a wedding weekend.
Despite the various concerns, the “Let's Get Loud” singer revealed that she “had no doubt” that the wedding would go ahead without a hitch. The sun “came up” just minutes before the couple said “I do,” and Lopez referred to it as “one of the most perfect moments” of their lives.
“The sky was clear blue, and distant, pure-white clouds loomed high in the sky. As the sun set behind the live oaks covered in Spanish moss, a warm breeze blew across the grass where my closest family and friends sat. Finally, I began walking down the stairs that would become the driveway.” Which would lead me towards the rest of my life. “Ahhhh… it was really happening,” she blurted out about the romantic ceremony.
The New York native also revealed the song that played during the first dance — “The Things We Handed Down” by Mark Cohen — and talked about her husband singing at the reception, which took Goodwill fishing The star's breath away.
“When he saw me walking up the stairs at that moment, it made perfect sense while it seemed so hard to believe, like the best dream, where all you want is to never wake up,” Lopez noted. Seeing his face, had the same wonderful meaning to me, some old wounds were healed that day, and the weight of the past was finally lifted from our shoulders – and not at all in the way we had planned.
