Alexis McAllister says it would be “ideal” for Mohamed Salah to end his career at Liverpool.
Salah's contract – along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold – expires at the end of the season, and he expressed his disappointment that new terms had not already been settled in two rare media appearances.
Reports this morning indicated that Liverpool have made their first offer for the Egyptian star, and McAllister hopes the matter will be resolved quickly to enable Salah to focus on pushing Liverpool to titles domestically and in Europe.
He told Spanish newspaper AS: “I hope he can stay at Liverpool next year. I want the negotiations to be successful.
“He seems happy here; He is a legend at the club. It would be ideal if he could finish his career here, but these are very personal decisions and also depend on the club analyzing him or making their decision.
“He inspires us a lot, on and off the pitch. He is an example of hard work and dedication, always looking to give his best. He is a very hard-working person and gives everything to play football.
“On the field, you can see it: Salah has a personality that always strives to achieve more, and when he is by your side, you know he is the player who will give you assists or score goals. I hope he continues like this, because he is one of the most important players in our team.”

Mac Allister was impressed by the effect of the aperture
Salah continued to flourish under the leadership of new coach Arne Slott, who took over from Jurgen Klopp at the end of last season.
Argentine midfielder Mac Allister expressed his admiration for the way the Dutchman calmly implemented his ideas.
He added: “We have come out of a long process with Jurgen Klopp, where the main ideas have already been worked out.” “Basically, Arnie Slott came in not to change everything, but to add his methodology to what we were already working on.
“The biggest difference, or what we've added, is patience when we have the ball. That's the biggest difference at the moment. Now, we have more of the ball, which allows us to create more scoring chances.
“The team feels very comfortable and is doing very well, as we saw against Real Madrid in the Champions League and against Manchester City in the English Premier League. This makes you more confident and makes us see that we can compete against any team.
