With the start of the January transfer window, transfer rumors began surrounding all the English Premier League clubs, especially Liverpool, the leaders of the English Premier League.
The Reds only managed to sign Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window last year and are expected to be active in the market this year in order to improve their chances of winning the Premier League title.

The position they are expected to strengthen the most is left-back due to Andy Robertson's poor form.
One player who has been linked is Fulham left-back Anthony Robinson, who is enjoying a fantastic season for Marco Silva's side.
However, journalist Mark Ogden claimed that the Reds were not interested in signing him due to his age.
While talking ESPN FCOgden said:
“The topic of Anthony Robinson has been around for a while. He has had a fantastic season and is arguably the best left-back in the league.

“So, Robinson's name has been linked to Liverpool to some extent. But I've been told on more than one occasion that Liverpool have little interest in Robinson.
“It's not because they don't think he's a good player,” Ogden adds.
“It's the fact that he's 27. It's not their age profile. Liverpool don't sign long-term players who are 27 years old.
“The name that was put to me is Milos Kerkes at Bournemouth,” he says. “He would fit the profile much better than Anthony Robinson.”

Whether it's Robinson or Kirkese, it's clear how much the Reds need a new left-back this year.
It's a position they have struggled in this season, and with Robertson clearly past his peak years as a player, a new face is needed on the left side of Liverpool's defence.
