“Liverpool maintains its position – They are confident of achieving this with Salah and Van Dijk, but no progress has been achieved in the talks so far.
“So, there's more work they need to do on those deals.”
Liverpool fans will no doubt be disappointed that things are not going well for Alexander-Arnold, but retaining two other legendary figures, Salah and Van Dijk, would soften the blow considerably.
Salah in particular has arguably been the best player on the planet in the last few months, so it is extremely important for the Merseyside giants not to lose the Egypt international for nothing.
Van Dijk is also the club's captain and shows no signs of slowing down with age, so Liverpool fans will be hoping he extends his stay at Anfield a little longer too.
