MS Dhoni takes a quick look at the PR-obsessed players

MS Dhoni, the only winner of all ICC awards as captain, asserted that if players focus on excelling in their work at 22 yards, everything else will fall into place. He feels that the pressure of maintaining a certain image on social media can be exhausting, and it's absolutely necessary.

“I'm not worried about who has how many followers or who does what, because I know that if I take care of cricket, everything else will take care of itself,” he noted. “If you do what you do so well, why do you need all this great answer?”

The famous cricketer also carefully researched those players who care more about their PR than their performance. He noted that social media can easily distract players, especially when they start paying too much attention to likes, comments and opinions.

He further explained: “I'm not saying this is a bad thing; People shouldn't do it, but at the same time, if it's not you, don't do it. Meaning, if you get distracted by it, if you feel, if you're among the people who read the comments or the response, then if certain bad things are going to be a part of it, you're going to feel bad.”

Dhoni also stressed that social media may not be the right way to go for those who are affected by negative comments, and advised the younger generation to stay true to themselves, focus on their craft, and let the results speak for themselves, as in the end. True success does not need a filter.

He concluded by saying, “So, if you know that's what's going on, you know that's not the right thing for you. So, you know, be wise about whether that helps you or whether it drags you down. So, if you get the right answer So do the right thing.
