the New Orleans Pelicans It will be without Brandon Ingram When they host Sacramento Kings Thursday night at the Smoothie King Center. He was listed as out indefinitely on the Pelicans' injury report with an ankle injury.

The 2020 Most Improved Player of the Year suffered the injury on the first possession of the third quarter against the OKC Thunder on Saturday. Ingram landed on the foot of OKC defender Lou Dort while attempting a mid-range jumper and immediately fell to the court. He did not return to the game and ESPN's Shams Charania later confirmed what many had feared:

“New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram has suffered a major left ankle sprain and will be out indefinitely. Another major blow to the Pelicans' season,” sources told ESPN.

This seemed like the final nail in the coffin for a Pelicans team that has struggled with injuries this season. The team currently sits in last place in the Western Conference standings with a 5-20 record and has lost nine of its past ten games.

For Thursday's game, the team will also be without Zion Williamson (left hamstring strain), Jose Alvarado (left hamstring), Jordan Hawkins (back) and Karlo Matkovic (back). Javonte Green is questionable with an ankle issue.
