Investing.com – Mexican stocks fell after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the stock sector dragged stocks lower.
At the close in Mexico, the index lost 0.27%.
The best performers of the day were Qualitas Controladora (SAB De CV (BMV:)), whose value rose 2.92%, or 4.85 points, to trade at 171.20 at the close. On the other hand, Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:) stock rose by 2.69% or 0.64 points and closed at 24.46. Electra SAB De CV (BMV:) shares rose by 2.51%, or 8.36 points, at 342.06 at the end of the session.
It was the worst performance of the session Alsia SAB De CV (BMV:) stock fell by 3.05%, or 1.37 points, and traded at 43.51 levels at close. Enbursa Financial Group SAB De CV (BMV:) shares declined by 1.64%, or 0.72 points, to close at 43.22. Panorti Finance (BMV:) fell by 1.55%, or 2.13 points, to 135.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancing stocks on the Mexican Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Gold futures for February delivery settled at 0.00% or 0.00 and closed at $2,633.50 per ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, the price of crude oil contracts for February delivery fell 0.09%, or 0.06, to reach a price of $70.10 per barrel, while the Brent oil contract for March rose 1.24%, or 0.90, to close at $73.22 per barrel.
The USD/MXN rose 0.07% to 20.16, while the EUR/MXN rose 0.15% to 20.98.
US dollar index futures rose 0.18% to 108.00.
