Investing.com – Italian stocks fell after the close on Wednesday, as losses in sectors led shares lower.
At the end of trading in Milan, the index fell by 0.09%.
The best performers of the session were amplifier (BIT:), whose value rose 2.78% or 0.69 points and reached 25.49 at closing. On the other hand, Inwit (BIT:) shares continued to rise by 1.57%, or 0.15 points, to close at 9.73, while STMicroelectronics (BIT:) shares rose by 0.84%, or 0.19 points, to 23.87 at the end of the session.
It was the worst performance of the session Pirelli and C SPA (BIT:) shares decreased in value by 1.09%, or 0.06 points, and traded at 5.46 levels at closing. Banca popolare di sondrio ScpA (BIT:) stock fell 0.99%, or 0.08 points, to close at 8.02. Moncler Spa (BIT:) fell 0.97% or 0.49 points at 49.91.
Declining stocks outnumbered gaining stocks on the Milan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Crude oil futures for February delivery fell 0.09%, or 0.06, to close at $70.10 per barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent crude for March delivery rose 1.24%, or 0.90, to $73.22 per barrel, while the February gold contract was unchanged, 0.00%, or 0.00, at $2,633.50 per ounce.
The EUR/USD pair was unchanged by 0.15% to reach 1.04, while the EUR/GBP pair was unchanged by 0.16% to reach 0.83.
US dollar index futures rose 0.18% to 108.00.
