Investing.com – Turkish stocks rose after the close on Wednesday, as gains in sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, it added 2.52%.

Among the best performers of the day were Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:), which rose 8.37%, or 2.38 points, to trade at 30.80 at the close. Meanwhile, akbank TAS (IS:) stock continued to rise by 7.97%, or 4.80 points, to close at 65.05. Guarantee Bank (IS:) rose 5.38% or 6.80 points to 133.30 at the end of the session.

It was the worst performance of the session Katilimevim Savings Finance Inc. (IS:), which decreased in value by 4.95% or 2.75 points and was trading at 52.75 levels at closing. Babylon Defense Security Systems (IS:) declined by 2.21%, or 0.29 points, to a price of 12.82, while Oyak Cimento Fabrikalari AS (IS:) declined by 2.17%, or 0.52 points, to a price of 23.40.

Advancing stocks outperformed declining stocks on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 437 stocks compared to 123 stocks, and 22 stocks closed unchanged.

Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:) shares rise to all-time highs; Gain 5.38% or 6.80 to 133.30.

Gold futures for February delivery settled at 0.00% or 0.00 and closed at $2,633.50 per ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, the price of crude oil contracts for February delivery fell 0.09%, or 0.06, to reach a price of $70.10 per barrel, while the Brent oil contract for March rose 1.24%, or 0.90, to close at $73.22 per barrel.

USD/TRY rose 1.18% to 35.20, while EUR/TRY rose 1.33% to 36.65.

US dollar index futures rose 0.18% to 108.00.
