“I was shocked, disappointed and upset by what Dorit said,” BK, 57, admitted during the Tuesday, December 24, episode of “Dorit.” Bravo's “Hot Mic” Podcast. “First of all, I'm very proud and public about my sobriety, and I'm 12 months in two weeks.”
BK noted that he went through a “very difficult and emotional journey” to get sober, so it surprised him that Dorit, 48, criticized that part of his life during his time. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 premierewhich aired in September.

He noted that as you get older, alcoholism “becomes progressive” and gets worse, which Dorit could not understand because she had never suffered from the disease.
“Dorit’s lack of understanding of sobriety is not her fault,” BK said. “She wasn't invested in it, and that's nothing — she didn't work on the show and she didn't do what she did.”
“No alcoholic is perfect,” he revealed. “You're either an alcoholic or you're not.”
Although he didn't like what Dorit called him RupaHe admitted that his alcoholism had “an element of responsibility in relation to the breakdown of our marriage.” He further claimed that it was “just an element” and not the only reason.
“The truth is, if you understand the disease, alcoholism is a symptom. It's not a cause,” PK continued. “So the reality is you have to get to the why behind it. So it is not easy to say: “He was a complete alcoholic.” That's why we're separated.”
