Amid the controversy surrounding Ravindra Jadeja's press conference ahead of the boxing Test in Melbourne, the former England captain Michael Vaughan He said the entire episode could have been easily avoided using artificial intelligence (AI).

The situation escalated when the BCCI media team informed Australian reporters that the Indian all-rounder was in a hurry to catch the bus and would not be able to respond in English.

But the situation took a bad turn when Channel 7 aired a report accusing Raveendran Jadeja of “refusing” to answer in English.

In fact, the press conference was organized for the Indian media, who had traveled to Australia for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25; Therefore, questions were asked in Hindi at the press conference and Jadeja is more comfortable speaking in this language.
Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan, in his response to the matter, noted that the entire furor over the language could have been avoided if AI translation tools had been used by the Australian media. He pointed out that there are artificial intelligence systems capable of translating Hindi into English, which could have seamlessly conveyed Jadeja's responses in Australian English.
The former England captain also noted that while the translations may not have been perfect, they would have solved the problem without adding unnecessary drama to the situation. Vaughan also criticized the Australian media for going too far while photographing the families of the Indian players.
“India is a big power,” Michael Vaughan said on Club Prairie Fire. They clearly think that cameras at the airport and filming families is a step too far. This is their way of responding. It adds more drama for me. There are AI systems you can use to translate Hindi to Australian English.
