Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow He gifted his offensive lineman samurai swords for Christmas because they helped protect him better than most seasons since he was a rookie.

Burrow allowed each of the linemen to choose a sword. ESPN noted that some of the swords date back to the 16th century. After a triple-touchdown performance against Cleveland BrownsBuro explained why he chose samurai swords over cars, watches, or anything else.

“Well, they wanted guns,” he said. “And I was like, ‘I don’t know anything about guns, guys.’ So I had a gun mentality, and I was like, ‘What’s a cool gun?’ I think samurai swords are pretty cool.”

“My favorite gift I've gotten so far because it's so different,” he said.

Burrow is having one of the best seasons of his career. It starts with the offensive line, where he was sacked just 37 times in 15 games. In 2022, the last time he played at least 15 games, he was sacked 41 times. He led the league in sacks in 2021 (51). The Bengals lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl that year.

The former LSU player leads the NFL with 39 touchdown passes and 4,229 passing yards.
