Chelsea are preparing to make offers for Christopher Nkunku from several clubs in January, according to reports.

Sources at Football Insider at Stamford Bridge have told them that the club expects interest from teams in the Premier League and beyond when the transfer window opens in the new year.

The 27-year-old Nkunku is believed to have been 'frustrated' with his lack of consistent playing time at Chelsea, with his club career limited to appearances in the UEFA Conference League this season.

Nkunku has featured in 16 of Chelsea's 17 league matches this season, but has only started twice.

Media in Spain report that Nkunku's agent, Pini Zahavi, has offered the Frenchman's services to La Liga giants Barcelona.

Barcelona sporting director Deco is believed to be hoping to sign a new striker to compete with Robert Lewandowski, but no action is expected until January.

Barcelona are said to be monitoring a number of potential strikers, with Nkunku's name on a list that is also believed to include Marcus Rashford, Milan's Rafael Leao and Napoli's Hveica Kvaratskhelia.

Chelsea are currently enjoying something of a resurgence under Enzo Maresca. The Blues are ranked second in the English Premier League table, and have not lost in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

Mariska's side host Fulham on Boxing Day.
