Northampton Town have confirmed the appointment of former Premier League midfielder, Kevin Nolan, as their new manager.
Nolan, now 42, has made more than 400 Premier League appearances, scoring 69 goals, for clubs such as Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle and West Ham.
After coaching spells at Leyton Orient and Notts County, Nolan was most recently on the Hammers' coaching staff but left after David Moyes was sacked in May.
Nolan has now signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Northampton, who currently sit 20th in League One. He replaces John Brady, who resigned from his position three weeks ago.

“Kevin has been extremely impressive throughout this process and has shown a genuine desire to get the job,” Northampton chairman Kelvin Thomas said in a statement.
“He has done well in difficult circumstances in both his previous managerial roles and has impressed us with his knowledge, energy, experience and passion. He has shown a real desire and enthusiasm for this role, can't wait to get started and has already taken on coaching responsibility for the first time.”
He added: “Our immediate goal is to try to move up the standings, and while we recognize that we have challenges to overcome, we believe Kevin is well placed to lead us forward in that regard.”
Nolan himself added: “I'm delighted to be appointed as Northampton Town's new manager and I can't wait to get to work. We have a busy schedule over the Christmas and New Year period, so the challenge is to get started as best as we can.”

Nolan begins his spell at Northampton with a trip to Reading on Boxing Day.
