A Houthi missile attack injured more than a dozen people in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The Israeli army said that attempts to shoot down a projectile launched from Yemen failed and it landed in a public park early on Saturday.
A Houthi military spokesman said that the group struck a military target with a hypersonic ballistic missile.
the The HouthisAn Iranian-backed rebel group controlling northwestern Yemen began attacking Israel and international shipping shortly after the Gaza war began in October 2023, saying it was acting in solidarity with the Palestinians.
The Israeli military says about 400 missiles and drones have been launched into the country from Yemen since then, most of which were shot down.
After the rocket attack early Saturday, Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency medical service, said it treated 16 people with “minor injuries” caused by glass shards from shattered windows in nearby buildings.
She added that 14 other people suffered minor injuries on their way to the protected areas and were also treated.
Earlier this week, Israel launched a series of strikes against what it said were Houthi military targets. Hitting ports as well as energy infrastructure in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. The Houthi-run Al Masirah TV reported that nine people were killed in the Salif port and Ras Issa oil port.
The Houthis pledged to continue their attacks until the end of the war in Gaza.
