Social media has been abuzz with rumors that Costco may switch to Coca-Cola products in its food halls in early 2025.

The news was first reported by Costco Insider in a December 17, 2024 post on his Instagram account.

“After more than a decade, Costco is returning from PepsiCo to PepsiCo Coke products “The change will bring Coke, Coke Zero, and Diet Coke as well as Sprite instead of Starry,” the post said.

Costco switched from Coca-Cola products to Pepsi products in 2013, according to a Costco Insider post, “as a cost-saving measure to preserve its popular $1.50 hot dog and soda combo.”

The Washington-based Wholesale Club did not change Hot dog price and soda group since the 1980s, and in May 2024, the company's CFO reassured customers that its price was “safe,” FOX Business reported at the time.

Costco Insider editor Matt West told Fox News Digital on Friday that his publication heard the news from “multiple sources.”

“Personally, we're very excited about the change,” said West, who is based in California. “Having been lifelong Costco fans, we were very disappointed by the change 11 years ago.”

The West does not seem to be alone in its feelings.

He told Fox News Digital that his post “surveyed the opinions of our followers, and 87% of them liked it.” Coke over Pepsi“So it seems like the majority of Costco members feel the same way we do.”

The switch to Coca-Cola is “expected to occur in early 2025,” Costco Insider said.

“Coca-Cola is placing greater emphasis on the quality of the product that comes out of the machine, including guidelines on machine maintenance, drink mixes and more to ensure a consistently great experience for Costco customers,” the post said in a Dec. 19 post about the rumors .

Many people shared their excitement on social media about the prospect of a Coca-Cola fountain in the Costco food hall.

“Diet Coke!! I used to always have it drink At Costco but haven't bought one since they switched to Pepsi!” one Instagram user said in response to a Costco Insider post.

Another commented: “Thank God. Sorry Pepsi, but Coke products taste better.”

“Sorry, Pepsi, but Coke products taste better.”

Most users of a Reddit page dedicated to Costco gossip were similarly excited about the rumored change.

“This better not be a December lie so help me lord,” Reddit user “msrubythoughts” wrote.

User “joekd713” said: “This makes my whole day. I always say the downside to the food court is Pepsi.”

“I don't even reach for the cup when I get a hot dog! I would be so happy if they went to Coca-Cola,” user “Comfortable_Ad7922” replied.

However, one Reddit user seemed saddened by the rumours.

Reddit user “No-Pangolin-7571” wrote: “I think I'm the only one on this sub who's really upset by this news, haha.”

User “awbitf” responded in a sarcastic manner: “There are probably dozens of us!”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Costco, Coca-Cola and Pepsi for comment.
