It's been about a year and a half since then Tottenham Hotspur I decided to set Angie Postecoglou As their new permanent manager.
Since then, it would be fair to say that the Australian has done some things right, such as bringing the entertainment factor back into the team, but also some things wrong, such as his inability to deal with the consistency issues in the team.
However, one area where he has found more success than failure is in transfers, with the likes of Micky van de Ven, Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison and others improving the squad overall.
However, there were a few misses, including one that Postecoglou was initially very keen on but will likely be moved on in the summer.
Postecoglou's bad signings
Before we get to the player in question, it's worth examining Postecoglou's questionable additions to the Tottenham squad: Timo Werner.
The former Chelsea player has joined the club on a surprise six-month deal The loan deal took place in January this yearWhile there was initial optimism that the Australian's attacking philosophy would help unleash the Werner of old, that optimism quickly faded.
By the end of the season, the German international had scored a fair goal Two goals and three assists In 14 games, while this is not a bad return, it is clearly not good enough for a club of Tottenham's stature.
Well, it appears the board and manager have disagreed, as the 28-year-old has been re-signed On a season-long loan deal There is an option to buy, but based on his performance this season, we can't imagine that option will be taken.
For example, In his 20 matchesThe Stuttgart-born player only scored once and provided only three assists.

Overall, the decision to re-sign the experienced striker is a puzzling one, but the positive is that the club did not have to pay a transfer fee to do so, which cannot be said of the manager's other poor signings.
Postecoglou signing that should be sold
So, with most of Postecoglou's signings having been fairly successful over the past year and a half, it should come as no surprise that the player we're talking about is… Radu Dragocinwho joined the club from Genoa in January for £26.7m After being told the manager “really wants” to sign him.
But to be clear, we are not suggesting that Spurs offload the Romania international next month, as that would be incredibly irresponsible given his current injury problems, but in the summer, he should be moved.
Now, to his credit, the experienced defender has performed reasonably well in moments this season, filling in for injured teammates.
However, for everything he does well, he seems to make a mistake or simply struggle to do the basics.
For example, in the Europa League alone, he made a whole host of mistakes, from the red card he received against Karabakh, to gifting Osimhen a goal in the match against Galatasaray, and looking completely out of his depth against Rangers last week, even though he did not… Not so. only.
Furthermore, he has had his fair share of poor performances in the league this season as well, starting with defeats to Bournemouth, Chelsea and Ipswich Town, the latter of which was so bad that the journalist Mitch Fritton described it as “The ultimate horror show.”
Ultimately, while Dragosin is likely good enough to play in the Premier League, it has become clear that he is not good enough to be an important player for Tottenham.
Therefore, if the club wants to progress under Postecoglou, they should look to sell the defender in the summer.
