Glasgow Rangers They have enjoyed plenty of great European nights throughout their history, especially since reaching the group stage in the inaugural edition UEFA Champions League 1992/1993 campaign.

Before that, the Light Blues had reached the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup three times, winning in 1972, but the club's exploits in the Champions League and European League Over the past 30 years, it has enabled a new generation of supporters to see the Gers perform well on the continent.

After a brilliant start to the 2019/20 season, Rangers suffered a slump after the winter break, allowing Celtic to take top spot in the league. Scottish Premier League Title race.

The Europa League looked like the only salvation as the club prepared to face Braga in their round of 32 first leg at Ibrox in February.

The Portuguese side took a two-goal lead in Glasgow, but as time ran out, Joe Aribo got past several defenders to score.

A few minutes later, Ianis Hagi scored from a free kick before the player, who joined in January, stole the show with a brilliant individual effort as the team won 3-2. Ibrox were wobbly, and they went on to win the second leg 1-0 the following week.

Domestically, the Light Blues were poor during the 2005/06 season, finishing third in the league. But they made history in the Champions League.

They were a different animal in Europe, defeating Porto in the group stage. In order to secure qualification to the knockout stages, becoming the first Scottish team to do so in the process, they had to get at least a draw against Inter At Ibrox.

Parma were one of the best teams on the continent in the mid-to-late 1990s, winning the UEFA Cup the season before their Champions League qualifying match.

Dick Advocaat's Rangers dispatched the team in the first leg, with goals from Tony Vidmar and Claudio Reyna securing the club's best European result in years.

Many expected Parma to respond in the second leg, but they could only win 1-0, thus losing on aggregate.

Rangers did not give him many chances Leeds United During the 1992/93 season, the champions of England and Scotland faced off in a 'Battle of Britain' to see who would book a place in the UEFA Champions League group stages.

A stunning strike from Mark Hateley put the Light Blues in the driving seat before Ally McCoist scored his 29th goal of the season – in November – with a diving header to ensure Rangers won the battle.

In the end, they lost the final by one point. So close, but so far.

Lyon 0-3 Rangers

This result proved that Rangers are capable of mixing it up with the best teams in Europe. After winning their opening match against Stuttgart, the team headed to Lyon to face the club that had won their seventh consecutive league title.

First-half goals from Lee McCulloch, Daniel Cousin and DaMarcus Beasley left the French side stunned, with the Gers looking imperious.

They even got a point against Barcelona in their next match. The last three matches ended in defeat as Rangers qualified for the UEFA Cup, where another journey was about to begin…

Slipping into secondary European competition was not what Walter Smith had in mind, but after dispatching Panathinaikos, Werder Bremen and Sporting Lisbon, all that stood between them and the final was Fiorentina.

A drab 0-0 draw at Ibrox was followed by an even worse match in Italy. It was clear that the Scottish team were playing for penalties, but when Barry Ferguson missed his spot-kicks, it looked as if the plan had backfired.

However, it was left to Nacho Novo to send the Light Blues to their first European final since 1972, and he slotted home his effort with ease, leaving the traveling fans raving.

Borussia Dortmund 2-4 Rangers

After finishing second in their group, Giovanni van Bronckhorst led Rangers to the Europa League play-offs, however the encounter against Borussia Dortmund – who were knocked out of the Champions League – was expected to end in defeat.

What happened next will surely go down as one of the most emphatic victories in the club's European history. They led by two goals before adding a third goal through John Lundstram.

Dortmund reduced the gap, but an own goal saw the goal scored The match ended 4-2 To the far side.

The following week, a 2-2 draw enabled the Light Blues to secure qualification to the last 16 – but that was not the end of the story.

The Gers sneaked through on penalties in the last European semi-final, but that won't be the case this time.

A 1-0 loss in Germany to the home team left a lot of work to do against RB Leipzig. Goals from James Tavernier and Glen Kamara gave the Ibrox side a 2-0 lead heading into the final.

It looked as if Christopher Nkunku's goal would deny them a place at Sevilla, although Lundstram stunned Ibrox when he scored what turned out to be the goal that sent the club to their fifth European final.

The club may have lost the championship, but the journey was exceptional.
