PORT-AU-PRINCE (Reuters) – A second group of 75 Guatemalan soldiers arrived in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince on Saturday to reinforce a United Nations-backed mission tasked with restoring order amid the chaos caused by gangs, the mission said.
Another 75 soldiers arrived the day before, bringing the total number of Guatemalan troops to 150. All reinforcements come from Guatemala's military police unit, the Guatemalan government said in a statement.
Eight more soldiers from El Salvador also arrived on Friday.
